If you want to your PC to run Microsoft Vista smoothly, Dell’s CEO Kevin Rollins suggests 2GB of memory. Tsk, tsk, tsk. And I thought the 1GB requirement would already be hard on the budget now I learn that it should be doubled. Personally, that’ll be too much shell to cough up just for an eye candy desktop that looks so much like a MAC OS. In fact, the money for the hardware upgrade can be better off used to buy a second hand desktop and installed with Ubuntu or Suse partnered with XGL. Vista, in my opinion, is a waste of time and money. I am guessing that this strategy of Microsoft to define a newer version of Windows through higher minimum requirements would only lead to losing more market share in the long run.
